GELITA-CEL ®
Completely biodegradable, organic GELITA-CEL® can be left in place, ensuring patient comfort while reducing the risk of encapsulation. Depending on the method of use and the operation site, GELITA-CEL ® is completely biodegraded in less than four weeks. GELITA-CEL® products induce hemostasis by providing a strong matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation. This accelerates the formation of a platelet plug and acts as a catalyst in forming a fibrin clot. The product’s low pH causes localized vasoconstriction, further enhancing the hemostatic effect. In addition the low pH exhibits antibacterial properties, minimizing the risk of infection.
