Directions for Use

A - Saftey Sheath
B - Handle
C - Locking/Unlocking Mechanism
D - Polymer Coated Blade
E - Cartridge Thumb Release Mechanism

1. Cartridge Loading:
Grasp CABO Cartridge (A) Firmly between thumb and finger and insert scalpel handle (B) into the open slot of the CABO Cartridge, as found with typical blade loading.

2. To Expose Blade:
Place thumb on top of safety sheath and push down on the locking/ unlocking mechanism (C). Continue pushing down on this mechanism and retract the sheath until the blade (D) is fully exposed and an audible click is heard, indicating that the sheath is locked in place and ready for use.

3. To Close Sheath:
Place thumb on top of safety sheath and push down on the locking/ unlocking mechanism (C). Continue pushing down on this mechanism and push the sheath forward until the blade is fully covered and an audible click is heard, indicating that the sheath is once again locked in placed and safe to pass or hand off.

4. Cartridge Unloading:
Position handle and cartridge on its side, so the Southmedic.com logo is facing up. Place thumb directly behind the release mechanism (E) (located at the rear of device) and push forward with a slight raising of the thumb. This will separate the device from the handle, allowing for a safe disposal of the soiled cartridge.

WARNING: Blade is extremely sharp. Handle with care. Always place sheath in "guard/closed" position when passing and when not in use. Used sharps are contaminated. Disease may occur from contact or injury. Dispose of in puncture resistant container with sheath in "closed" position. Refer to AORN, CDC, OSHA or local standards setting organizational guidelines for handling and disposal of sharps.
