Directions for Use

Cartridge Loading — Hold the handle in either hand. Grasp CABO Cartridge behind sheath, align and affix scalpel handle to open slot of the CABO Cartridge, as found with typical blade loading.

Passing/Closed Position Remove yellow Safety Pin by pulling out and away from cartridge and discard. Scalpel remains in closed position when passing.

Open Position — To open for use, place thumb on top of sheath and retract until blade is fully exposed and shield is secured against button stop.

Guard/Closed Position- To re-cover blade, place thumb on top of sheath and push forward to the guard/closed postion or until resistance is felt and movement stops. Scalpel may be re-opened and closed repeatedly prior to removal.

Cartridge Unloading — Place thumb & forefinger on small release buttons, pressing down on the buttons, simultaneously pushing the cartridge forwards/off
and discard.

Alternatively and on the opposite side of the buttons use a needle holder or Kelly Clamp to lift up the back portion of the cartridge and push forward to remove.

WARNING: Blade is extremely sharp. Handle with care. Always place sheath in "guard/closed" position when passing and when not in use. Used sharps are contaminated. Disease may occur from contact or injury. Dispose of in puncture resistant container with sheath in "closed" position. Refer to AORN, CDC, OSHA or local standards setting organizational guidelines for handling and disposal of sharps.
